Duck Race

Bank Holiday Monday (7th May) will see the annual Duck Race being held by St Andrew’s School PTA, in Buckland Monachorum from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm in the school grounds. There will be the always popular ‘Drake’s Dash’ and ‘Fun Run’ (kindly supported by Tavistock Athletics Club) and the PTA are hoping for even more fancy dress entrants! The school’s official ‘Drake’s Duck’ will be at the event and also he will be out in Yelverton this Saturday (28th April) and also on Saturday 5th May helping to sell ducks to raise much needed funds for the school. Entry forms for the ‘Drake’s Dash’ will also be available. The Duck Race is supported by many family activities including archery, bouncy castle, mini rollercoaster ride, fire engine, maypole dancing and local craft stalls. There will also be refreshments on sale from a hog roast, a bbq to homemade cakes. Duck numbers for the little yellow ducks, which will be swimming down the stream during the event, will be on sale at Yelverton shops both saturdays leading up to the event (28th April) and (5th May) and also will be available at the event. So come along on Bank Holiday Monday to an excellent family event with activities to suit everyone. *For further information please contact Sharon Mitchell (07709228790)*
